Yes, way back in the day I was involved in creating graphics for high end programs on my home computer. Around 1986 I was creating rudimentary computer graphics, and also doing level design for the only arcade game that included a level editor – a small shareware program called Willy The Worm.

I made mostly two types of graphics during this period – tile graphics for the game Adventure Construction Set, and graphics for The Print Shop.

Adventure Construction Set tiles were quite restrictive - four colours on a square tile of 16x16 pixels. Yes, that's quite a bit to work with, isn't it? But that wasn't too bad for a roleplaying game back in 1986, and you can check out some of the tiles I made. I picked ones which don't require much of an explanation of what they are - again, a rarity for that time.

Print Shop graphics were black and white but the pixel count was much more wide open, at 88 pixels long and 52 pixels high. Oh, the possibilities!

I took a 13 year hiatus from computer graphics to study traditonal art, and returned to it when I went to Vancouver film school in 2000.
